The English Amateur Tour reached its conclusion at weekend and former professional Steven Hallworth became the 6th to claim his prize of free entry to Q School.
The winners of the previous events were:
1 - Former professional Peter Lines who has been in many of the main tour events this season as a Q School top up
2 - Luke Simmons, another former pro who almost made it through Q school in 2015
3 - Lewis Gillen, the youngster from Leeds who is sure to make a name for himself very soon
4 - David Lilley who had a very fine run in the Indian Open last year, only losing out to Shaun Murphy in the quarter finals
5 - Another former professional, Kuldesh Johal
The two highest ranking players on the tour, David Lilley and Joe O’Connor will be invited to play in next season’s English Open in Manchester and David will be invited to join the English Amateur Champion in the EBSA European Championships and the IBSF World Snooker Championships.
The English Amateur Tour has been a great success with over 100 players entering at least one event. The two venues, the Star Snooker Academy in Sheffield and the South West Snooker Academy in Gloucester provide the best possible playing conditions and the players have provided some excellent snooker to match.
