Following discussions with the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA) and the subsequent announcement from the European Billiards and Snooker Association (EBSA), the English Association of Snooker and Billiards (EASB) are delighted to inform you that we have also accepted to be affiliated to the World Snooker Federation (WSF).
We are convinced that this move is in the best interests of our player and official members.
We will honour the wish of any player who qualified for International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF) events as a result of last season’s International Selection Criteria to be nominated for this season’s IBSF events.
We will also put in place qualification criteria for any WSF events to be played this season.
In light of these developments, the International Selection Criteria for this seasons EASB events will be reviewed and may be subject to change until the release of next season’s calendars.
The EASB sees the relationship with the WSF as a great opportunity to further enhance its relationship with the WPBSA as a result of the English Partnership for Snooker and Billiards (EPSB).
We expect the opportunities for amateur players to continue to grow because of this.
