Can you run an EASB Event?

Can you run an EASB Event? We'd like you to join us.

The EASB are looking to recruit more Officials for the Events they run. We are looking for people to be EASB Tournament Directors (TD’s). The TD is the EASB representative who takes control of the Event and ensures that the day runs smoothly for the players, referees and the venue.

Along with others, the top amateurs in the country enter our Events and you will be looking after many players whose expectations are a career as a professional snooker player, or are looking to represent England internationally. Many of our events are aimed specifically at developing young people. Our TD’s are compensated for their work with a daily payment and travel expenses at 25p per mile.

We are looking for people with a love of our sport, have a logical, organised approach and an air of authority. You do not need to be a qualified referee as each event would have at least one qualified EASB referee in attendance.

In order to do this we are holding a sequence of Open Days as follows:

Saturday 16th June 2018 – Northern Snooker Centre , 92 Kirkstall Rd, Leeds LS3 1LT

Saturday 23rd June 2018 – Midlands Snooker Academy, 77-79 Bridge St, Walsall WS1 1JQ

Saturday 23rd June 2018 – Chandlers Ford Snooker Centre, The Central Precinct, 17A & 18A, Winchester Rd, Chandler's Ford, Eastleigh SO53 2GB

The start time for all these events is 10:30am and will last approximately 2 hours with refreshments provided.

During this session an experienced EASB TD will explain to you about the role, their experiences and why they do it.

If after that you are interested in getting involved we will arrange suitable training. This would initially involve shadowing a EASB TD at an Event.

If you are interested in coming along to one of these events please e-mail stating the venue you will be coming to.

If you know of anyone else who may be interested please pass this message on to them.
